My name is Iris and this is the virtual version of my bench, on which I sit every evening, with a nice coffee, and think about my day. Most of my days are ordinary just like everyone else’s. I get up, switch off my alarm clock, stub my toe on something edgy every now and then, go to one of the many odd jobs I’ve had in the last few years, sit in traffic on the way home, forget lunch or lock my keys in the house and stress about various things.. at least I’ve always thought my life was mostly ordinary. But sometime a few months ago I decided to start a little exercise, which is: to simply think of three things out of each day that I found to be awesome in some way. After a short while of doing this exercise I have found that most things just seem ordinary or mediocre because in the haste of daily life we never stop to look close enough. I now go through my days highlighting moments as “awesome” the moment they actually happen. It’s become second nature. This exercise has made me savor little moments and encounters that I would have otherwise dismissed.
I started this on my social media page so some content/persons may be unknown to you if I don’t know you personally but you’ll catch on eventually. My bench is a pressure free zone.
